Robo-Ethics Debate at the Naval Postgraduate School

I had the tremendous pleasure this week of visiting the Naval Postgraduate School, where I participated in a discussion with Dr. Heather Roff and Dr. Bradley Strawser about the ethics, morality, legality, and practical implications of allowing weapons to autonomously make lethal decisions. I’ll be writing more on this in the future — it is an elaboration of sorts on my article from this past May in Foreign Policy about a similar topic. But it was a tremendously detailed, challenging discussion, and I’m very excited to have been able to participate in it.
